Tecumseh, MI: Suspect sought in statue assault

or, why you should take photos of any interesting sculpture or other thing that you see. There's always one or more jerks out there who just love to destroy beautiful things.

From LenConnect: Suspect sought in statue assault

A Toledo man is being sought for allegedly damaging one of the sculptures on display in downtown Tecumseh Friday.
Witnesses said the suspect, whose license plate and description matched a 42-year-old Toledo man, stopped his car near the dinosaur sculpture entitled “Deinonychus,” at the corner of East Chicago Boulevard and Ottawa Street, got out and began hitting the piece with a hammer. After several minutes, he got in his car and drove away. The incident occurred at 6:10 p.m.
The sculpture, created by Joe Krajkiewcz of Grandville is valued at $1,800. No dollar estimate has been placed on the damage and area law enforcement agencies have been alerted to watch for the suspect.
